    Vista la legge n. 168 del 9 maggio 1989; 
    Vista la  legge  n.  476  del  13  agosto  1984,  come  integrata
dall'art. 52, comma 57, della legge 28 dicembre 2001, n. 448; 
    Visto l'art. 4 della legge n. 210 del 3 luglio1998; 
    Vista la legge n. 241  del  2  agosto  1990,  "recante  norme  in
materia di  procedimento  amministrativo  e  diritto  di  accesso  ai
documenti amministrativi e successive modifiche"; 
    Visto il decreto legislativo n. 196 del 30 giugno  2003,  "Codice
in materia dei dati personali"; 
    Visto il DM n. 224 del 30 aprile 1999, che regolamenta la materia
del Dottorato di Ricerca; 
    Vista la legge n. 449, art. 51, comma 6, del 27 dicembre 1997; 
    Visto lo Statuto dell'Universita' degli Studi di Messina, emanato
con DR del 10 aprile 2007 e successive modificazioni ed integrazioni; 
    Visto il Regolamento per l'istituzione delle Scuole di  Dottorato
e dei Corsi di Dottorato di Ricerca, n.  12  del  5  agosto  2009,  e
successive modificazioni ed integrazioni; 
    Visto   il   parere   espresso   del   Nucleo   di    Valutazione
dell'Universita' degli Studi di Messina nel luglio 2010; 
    Viste le delibere del 2 e  3  agosto  2010,  rispettivamente  del
Senato Accademico  e  del  Consiglio  di  Amministrazione  di  questo
Ateneo, con le quali sono state approvate le  Scuole  e  i  Corsi  di
Dottorato di Ricerca del XXVI ciclo e attribuite le relative borse di
studio; 
    Fatta  riserva  di   eventuali   e   successive   modifiche   e/o
integrazioni al bando che verranno pubblicizzate  sul  sito  internet
dell'Universita'                                        all'indirizzo

                              Decreta: 
 
    With  the  aim  of  promoting  the  internationalization  of  its
doctoral programme, the University of Messina, Italy,  will  fund  11
additional places (euros 12400 net per annum)  reserved  for  foreign
students from countries outside the  European  Union,  interested  in
attending any of the  courses  listed  below  (one  place  for  every
course).

    Courses last three years and will  commence  on  2  January  2011

    Students from countries outside the European Union, who  wish  to
apply for admission to  a  doctoral  course,  must  submit  an  email
application to ricerca@unime.it not later than 30 days from  the  day
following the date of publication of this announcement in the Italian
Official Gazzette. At the same  time  the  announcement  will  become
available at http://www.unime.it/ateneo/bandiconcorsi/dottorati. html 
    Foreign students from countries outside the European  Union  will
be  evaluated  on  the  basis  of  their  academic  and  professional
qualifications. For this reason they are required to provide 
      1. an application in  which  the  applicant  declares  clearly,
precisely, and with full legal responsibility: (a) his/her own  first
name(s) and sumame, tax code, date and piace of birth, residence, and
contact details (postcode, phone, email). Applicants who do not  have
a tax code may omit this but this fact must be clearly stated on  the
application; (b) the exact title of the course applied for;  (c)  the
applicant's citizenship; (d) a university degree (min. 4 year course)
or a specialist degree/master's (3+2 year courses) with the date  and
name of the University or an equivalent  certified  foreign  academic
qualification for which is requested, for  admission  purposes  only,
the recognition of equivalence by the Doctorate  Academic  Board.  In
the latter case,  all  relevant  course  examination  resuits  and/or
results of other degree course requirements with  assessments  and/or
grades awarded (i.e. transcript details) must be provided; 
       2. a Curriculum Vitae with details of  any  previous  research
experience; 
      3. a list of publications; 
      4. recommendation letters by two University professors in Italy
or abroad; 
      5. a photocopy of a valid ID. 
     Applications will be evaluated by a committee appointed  by  the
Senato accademico of the University of Messina. The  results  of  the
evaluation    will    be    disclosed    in     due     course     at
http://www.unime.it/ateneo/bandiconcorsi/dottorati.html    and    all
applicants will be notified by email. This notification will  include
the informations concerning the documents required by the italian law
and expiry date. 
 
       Informal enquiries may be sent to professors in charge 
               of the courses named as "coordinatori".
