Old pedagogical methods should change but parents don't want their children to be the guinea pigs. Yet, according to Prof. Prensky, there is little choice: "We are living in an age of accelerating change. We are going to have to experiment what works. We are at the ground floor of a new world full of imagination, innovation and digital wisdom. We need to create the education of the future because it doesn't exist anywhere today." A recent study in the UK, for instance, compared the average flowering dates of trees and other plants from the 18th century to those of recent years, finding that due to global warming flowering takes place a month earlier than in the past centuries. One of the effects of the pandemic has been to force workers to leave their jobs and look for new ones. Employers, in many cases, have played a key role in this process. Many workers who stay in their jobs, choose to do so because they feel they are supported at their workplace. Those, on the other hand, who feel undervalued or whose company culture pushed them almost to breaking point during the crisis, may choose to leave to find their dream jobs somewhere else.
